Applications are invited for the following post:
Research Assistant I/II in the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and
Research (CACLER) within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 20180628) (to commence as soon
as possible until 31 August 2018)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education (major in Chinese
language education or teaching Chinese as a second language), arts, or social science (major in
psychology). They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
(including Cantonese); and be familiar with MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Power-
point, etc. Experience in educational research is an advantage.
The appointee will be required to work with investigators and school teachers to implement
projects on developing classroom pedagogy of Chinese language teaching for local as well as non-
Chinese speaking students, prepare teaching materials for non-Chinese speaking students; collect
research data; coordinate different parties for various project activities; provide secretarial and
research support to the project; and perform other duties as assigned. Those with less qualification
may be considered for the post of Student Research Assistant.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in
addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
