Senior Research Assistant in the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER) within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 201800028) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree, or a Master's degree with at least 3 year's post-qualification experience, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years' post-qualification experience; in the field of Statistics, Education Psychology, Early Childhood Education or Language Education. They should also possess solid statistical and computing skills, and be able to communicate effectively both in writing and in oral presentations in Chinese and English. Proficiency in advanced statistics methods, multilevel analysis, Structural Equational Modelling (SEM), and operations research are preferred.
The appointee will work closely with the Principal Investigator, conduct research under supervision in a predominantly independent manner, and pursue investigations in the teaching and learning of Chinese as a second language and other related research studies. He/She will be responsible for developing, organizing and implementing statistical projects/systems; conducting statistical analyses and presenting statistical outputs; undertaking researches on key statistical issues as directed by Principal Investigator; preparing for publications in peer-reviewed journals and books; and performing other duties as assigned.
