Requirements:
(1) Undergraduate students at HKU or graduate students (master, degree or HDip etc);
(2) Willingness and/or experience on designing interactive games;
(3) Patient, careful, supportive. Has strong team-work spirit.
Duties include:
(1) Design and develop 4-5 interactive games;
(2) Attending 8 professional training sessions on Saturdays at HKU, details of the training sessions are as follows:
• Introduction to game industry and Unity Software Interface
• How to build your own scene (terrain, materials, import models, Enlighten method)
• Physics of game world (forces, collider, trigger, particle effects)
• Build a 2D visual RPG game 1 (what is 2D world, canvas, working with Fungus dialogue system)
• Build a 2D visual RPG game 2 (working with Fungus camera system, simple logic and flowcharts, playing around with variables)
• Tutorial 1--making a RPG game based on scripts written)
• Build a 2D visual RPG game 3 (customization, bilingual settings)
• Tutorial 2--making our own dialogue system
• Build a 3D FPS game 1 (FPS system, 3d model/animation, collect object in 3d, FX effects)
• Build a 3D FPS game (enemy, HP bar)
Period of work:
From 12 October to 30 November 2020, with the possibility of continuation. The estimated working hours is around 50-80 hours.
Hourly Rate: $66 to $74 (Depending on the year of study)*
* Graduated students will be appointed as “Technical Assistant” with same hourly rate ($74).
