Temporary Full Time Research Assistant I/II, Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education & Research (CACLER), Faculty of Education (Ref.: 201501293) (to commence as soon as possible for 1 month, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Chinese Language, equivalent. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; be familiar with MS Office application, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.; and have good interpersonal and organizational skills. They should also be self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently and in a team. Those with teaching experience, especially in teaching Chinese as a second language will be an advantage.
The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator to implement a research project related to supporting Chinese learning for non-Chinese speaking students at pre-school level. He/She will co-ordinate with different parties, including giving support to the non-Chinese speaking students in Kindergarten, supporting school teachers and funding bodies; assist in the research process including literature search, collecting, transcribing and analyzing data and writing reports; organize seminars and workshops; provide secretarial and research support to the project; and perform any other duties as assigned. Those with higher qualification and more work experience in research may be considered for the post of Senior Research Assistant.
