The Keynote speech was delivered by Dr. Christy Lao, Associate Professor of Education, Founding Director of the Confucius Institute at San Francisco State University (SFSU). Her presentation demonstrated how we can incorporate recreational reading and listening in Chinese into the teaching and learning of Chinese as a second language, to motivate students to learn Chinese, to assist their Chinese language development, to change students’ perception and attitude towards the learning of Chinese through innovative project activities and cultivate independent, lifelong learners of Chinese. |
