Learning & Teaching for Non-Chinese Speaking Students - Professional Development Programme for Kindergarten Teachers 2018/19 (Basic Course) was commissioned by Education Bureau. It covers essential areas/topics in teaching NCS children Chinese Language, including Effective strategies in implementing culturally responsive teaching to facilitate NCS children's learning of Chinese through integrated learning in kindergartens; Effective approaches to developing NCS children's Chinese language skills through holistic learning and meaningful means such as the use of stories; Practical skills in implemented differentiated instruction to cater for learning diversities among NCS and Chinese speaking children in learning Chinese in the same class etc.
The 3 rounds of training programmes (October 2018 to March 2019) have attracted 130 in-service teachers to attend.
