Two learning community activities on 13/11/2018 and 12/3/2019 were organized to understand the utilisation of LPF in school context, discuss the strategies and provide a platform for knowledge exchange. It was conducted by the project team of QEF Thematic Network (QTN) on “Utilising Chinese Language Learning Progression Framework for Non-Chinese Speaking Children in Kindergartens in Hong Kong for Effective Chinese Learning"
The two activities were tailor-made for our network schools and it was attended by 47 kindergarten teachers from 10 network schools to attend.

The Quality Education Secretariat under Education Bureau has commissioned the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER), Faculty of Education, HKU to host the QEF Thematic Network (QTN) on “Utilising Chinese Language Learning Progression Framework for Non-Chinese Speaking Children in Kindergartens in Hong Kong for Effective Chinese Learning" in the third school year since 2017. This series of projects, led by Dr. Sau Yan HUI (P.I.) and Dr. Wai Ip LAM, aim to disseminate good practices and impactful outcomes derived from our previous QEF project entitled ‘Development of Chinese Language Learning Progression Framework for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Children in Kindergartens in Hong Kong (2013/0076)’ and promote professional sharing through networking different schools and educational bodies. The Project has already collaborated with 32 local kindergartens during the three school years and no. of direct beneficiary is over 1600 teachers. This is the another thematic series after the CACLER had successfully completed the five-year ‘Quality Education Fund (QEF) Thematic Network on Chinese Language’* from 2011 to 2016.
