About the conference
Objectives
The sharing and variations of Han Character is a unique feature among a number of Asian languages. Korean learns Hanja, Japanese learns Kanji, Chinese in Mainland China and Singapore learns simplified Hanzi while Chinese in Taiwan and Hong Kong learns traditional Hanzi. This Conference aims to bring together scholars, researchers and practitioners from different Asian countries to foster international knowledge exchanges and research collaborations on Han characters education and research. Building upon accomplishments and successes in the first seven conferences, the eighth one will be held in Japan in mid of January 2018.

Themes
- Han character education: including theoretical framework, teaching and learning materials, pedagogical strategies, information technology in Han character education; classical Chinese or literary Chinese and so on.
- Researches on Han character: including history of Han character, philology of Han character, theoretical framework, annotation, study of Han character etc.
