The Project aims to provide three Professional Development Programme for Kindergarten Teachers on Teaching Non-Chinese Speaking Students in Kindergartens. It will cover essential areas/topics in teaching NCS children Chinese Language, including (1) Challenges and difficulties of NCS children's learning in kindergartens, especially in their learning of Chinese; (2) Effective strategies in implementing culturally responsive teaching to facilitate NCS children's learning of Chinese through integrated learning in kindergartens; (3) Effective approaches to developing NCS children's Chinese language skills through holistic learning and meaningful means such as the use of stories; (4) Practical skills in implemented differentiated instruction to cater for learning diversities among NCS and Chinese speaking children in learning Chinese in the same class; (5) Effective strategies for parent engagement in supporting their children in their learning of Chinese.
