This project aims (a) to collaborate with primary schools and build the capacity of teachers to know how to design and develop appropriate learning, teaching and assessment materials for students at Key Stage 1 and 2; (b) To build the capacity of teachers and students to engage in assessment for and as learning through the above LTA materials with self-explanatory notes and annotations; (c) To enrich teachers’ knowledge of teaching and assessing reading and/or writing ability and improve their pedagogical skills as required in facilitating and assessing self-directed learning; and (d) To provide professional teacher training for primary teachers in adopting the suggested approaches to reading and/or writing strategies, and in designing and developing quality and need-focused learning, teaching and assessment materials.
