The main objectives of this Project are (a) to conduct an in-depth literature review on the latest development and application of student adaptive learning systems, and local and overseas experience of developing knowledge structures; (b) to develop, with validation, a knowledge structure covering relevant learning objectives for Reading Comprehension (Key Stage 1) based on the curriculum of Chinese Language Education in Hong Kong; (c) to investigate the feasibility of application of the proposed knowledge structure in the context of student adaptive learning system; and (d) to give recommendations on the further application of the experience of this Project in developing student adaptive learning system and relevant knowledge structure of Reading Comprehension (Key Stage 1) of Chinese Language to other skills of the same and other key stages of Chinese Language.
