Assistant Lecturer (holding the title of Senior School Support Officer) in the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER) within the Faculty of Education (Ref: 201801071) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language, Education, Psychology or a relevant field; a Postgraduate Diploma in Education or equivalent; at least 10 years' post-qualification relevant experience; a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; excellent communication and organizational skills; and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team. Research experience in teaching and learning of Chinese for non-Chinese speaking students is a must.
The appointee will assist the Project Director to implement a joint-institution research project on teaching and learning of Chinese language for non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students; work out a working plan and schedule in relation to the project outcomes and deliverables; coordinate and closely collaborate with partnership schools, teachers and other related parties; develop good exemplars; conceptualize the experiences and findings to generate research papers for publication; write up progress reports and evaluation reports for the project; organize project activities; conduct dissemination seminars and teacher training programmes; and perform other duties as assigned.
