Signing of Memorandum of Collaboration between CACLER, HKU and Singapore Centre for Chinese Language
Dr. Chin Chee Kuen, the Executive Director of Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) and Professor Tse Shek Kam, Director of Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER), HKU signed the Memorandum of Collaboration on 15 January 2009 and agreed on the following areas:
  • Joint publication of international journal and academic series;
  • Joint organization of international conferences and seminars;
  • To launch workshops for Singapore Chinese language teachers;
  • To provide expertise in developing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) resources; and
  • Joint research programmes.

Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) is a centre which will be established to focus on the training and development of Chinese Language teachers in Singapore. The National Institute of Education (NIE) will work with the Ministry of Education (MOE) to set up the Centre by mid 2009.
