The project focuses on developing teaching and assessment materials as well as designing learning activities to enhance effective learning and teaching that could be used on the "Web-based Leaming and Teaching Support" (WLTS) and the Student Assessment Repository (ST AR) in light of promoting assessment literacy. It aims (a) to collaborate with 4 primary schools and design and develop appropriate learning, teaching and assessment materials for students at Key Stage 1 and 2; (b) to build the capacity of teachers and students to engage in assessment for and as learning through the above LT A materials with self-explanatory notes and annotations; (c) to enrich teachers' knowledge of teaching and assessing reading ability and improve their pedagogical skills as required in facilitating and assessing self-directed learning; and (d) to provide professional teacher training for primary teachers in adopting the suggested approaches to reading strategies, and in designing and developing quality and need-focused learning, teaching and assessment materials.
