Analysis of Chinese Practical Writing in Schools is the second book in the series Mother-tongue Education in Hong Kong . Since mother-tongue education had expanded in Hong Kong, many schools have had to write documents in Chinese instead of English. On such occasions materials for reference would have been appreciated. Therefore the CMI Centre collected a large number of examples of practical writing and materials from various schools and produced this book after classifying and smoothing expression in the materials. The book not only includes various types of practical writing from local schools, it also analyses texts with schematic structures from the perspective of functional linguistics.
As the materials of the book come from schools, we hope that the book can, in turn, provide a useful reference to teachers in writing as well as teaching practical writing.
